We install seagull chimney cages on all types of domestic properties in Kent to prevent gulls from nesting
Seagull Chimney cages are an excellent deterrent to prevent gulls from nesting on your chimney or between the pots.
Our chimney cages are made on site once we have the measurements to ensure the perfect fit to stop seagulls from nesting.
They are made from 20 gauge galvanised metal and secured into place by drilling 25mm holes in the chimney to secure the cage with holding brackets.
Determining if a seagull cage is the best deterrent
It is not always the case that a gull cage can be installed.
There are certain instances where we can install bird spikes in between the posts to prevent access and nesting.
If all your pots are intact and there are no flat spots, spikes are an alternative to a cage.
Most of the time we can access chimneys using roof ladders.
Please note that a scaffold and bridge may be required for chimneys where the chimney is too high to reach or where there is nowhere to hook roof ladders.
Other options to protect against gulls
A favourite spot for gulls is behind chimneys.
The lead flashing tray behind your chimney is an ideal place to build a nest.
There are a number of options to protect this area. We can install Scarborough Spikes.
These are made from steel and are longer than commercially available bird spikes.
The long metal wire spikes make it difficult for seagulls to penetrate thereby preventing access to the tray behind your chimney.
